In a 3-part vocal score (i.e. SAT), what part does the bass sing?

The bass should sing the melody, down one octave. SAT harmonies are popular for contemporary worship songs, as the harmonization differs from traditional SATB voicing. Contemporary worship vocals usually do not have the low bass vocal line as in choral vocals.
