What is the primary difference between the Worship Band Series and the Praise Band Series?
The Worship Band Series and the Praise Band Series are the two main styles of praise band arrangements for congregational worship that are featured in our catalog. You will find that many of our popular titles are available in both series. The Praise Band Series is the “little brother” of the popular Worship Band Series. Written at a lower difficulty level, it is appropriate for the younger student or recreational adult player. The orchestration uses the same style of Vocal and Rhythm charts as does the standard Worship Band Series. The Praise Band Series is generally well suited to small to medium size bands, as the instrumental parts are less complex, and there are a lot of doubled parts. The Worship Band Series is well suited for any size band, but the instrumental parts are generally more complex, melodic, and unique to each instrument. These arrangements are geared towards a contemporary “R&B horns” praise band sound while at the same time being scalable up to a medium-sized church orchestra. The core parts (rhythm, vocals, and brass) may be enhanced with the other parts in any combination. Worship Band parts are written with lines and stylings appropriate for each instrument. These orchestrations are written at an intermediate/advanced level, and should be appropriate for high school students, adult amateurs and pros alike.
